Description

LumberWorks, Chainsaw Gloves with 8 Layers of Kevlar on the Back of the Left Hand

At first glance, one would never guess that Superior’s new LumberWorks chainsaw gloves were just that: chainsaw gloves. Even after putting them on, you’d be no closer. But knowing what’s been engineered into them will make you a believer. They’re as comfortable, dextrous and good looking as a pair of our mechanics gloves, but with an eight-layer lining of Kevlar® on the back of the Left hand
, a specific chain-arrest woven Kevlar® they provide a level of cut resistance designed to withstand a chainsaw running at 3140 feet per minute. This meets the EN 381:1999 Class 0 for chainsaw cuts.
We’ve designed other great features to compliment their exceptional cut resistance, like water-repellant, smooth, grain goatskin leather palms, that have built in anti-vibration reinforcement. Not only does this improve wear; vibration transfer to the hand is substantially reduced. Elasticized velcro wrists improve comfort, while preventing wood chips from falling into the back of the hand. The fabric on the back of the hand is a stretchy nylon/lycra fabric, laminated with a water-repellant breathable membrane, to keep hands dry.

5 of 5 Cool, Comfortable & Durable December 5, 2009
Reviewer: [email protected] from Reno, NV United States
We tested the LumberWorks Chainsaw Gloves all during the 2009 cutting season and were extremely pleased.  The gloves were not too hot and, after a short break in period to limber them up, were quite comfortable.  They were tough too.  I wore them all the time I was working in the woods and they're ready to go for next year.  Check out the full review in the premier issue of ArboristAndLogger.com on 1/1/10.

4 of 5 Nice Gloves March 10, 2009
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from  MA United States
I purchased these gloves after hearing that ones left hand is vulnerable to lacerations while operating a chainsaw.  The Kevlar padding on the left hand is very noticeable (they did not skimp on materials here), but has little impact on dexterity.  The palms seem nicely padded which should reduce the amount of vibration felt in the palms.  I purchased these in an XL and they fit well.  I so rarely can find a pair of gloves that fit my massive hands, so I am thrilled that they make gloves this large.  My one area of concern is the protection of the knuckle joints, but I guess that wearing something is better than nothing.  My knuckles should be fairly well protected by the chain brake/hand guard anyways.  The right hand does not need padding as it should be on the back end of the saw and away from the chain if you are cutting with both hands.
